Opsware code deployment and rollback encapsulates operational best practices to deliver a consistently higher level of quality when deploying new applications or making updates to existing applications in an n-tier architecture environment.

Opsware code deployment and rollback automates the distribution of code, content, and configurations to applications on multiple operating systems, including Windows and various flavors of Unix. Administrators use a central web-based interface to manage the process end-to-end, from transferring files to restarting processes, from flushing object caches to rolling back to the last known good release.

Opsware code deployment and rollback features leverage the scalability and security of the Opsware System and provides the following benefits beyond framework tools, manual methods or ad hoc scripts:
