Leading Companies and Strategic
Partners Tout the Importance of IT Automation
SUNNYVALE, Calif. - September 27th, 2005 -
Opsware Inc. (NASDAQ: OPSW), the leading provider of IT
automation and utility computing software, today announced
the successful outcome of its annual OPSWorld User Conference,
held earlier this month in Burlingame, California. This
was the result of record-breaking participation from the
company's Global 2000 customer-base and strategic partners,
who touted how IT automation has helped drive down costs,
automate compliance, and simplify the management of IT environments
as they inevitably become more complex as new technologies
emerge and global expansion creates scalability issues.
OPSWorld 2005 was the company's first cross-product user
conference for all Opsware customers, partners and resellers
from North America, Europe and Asia Pacific. The conference
featured key customers, including MSN (Microsoft), EDS,
and Intelink, who showcased their Opsware deployments and
returns received from IT automation across their global
IT environments. In addition to the customer presentations,
Don Rippert, CTO of Accenture, provided the keynote address
on "The critical role of IT automation in achieving high
performance IT." Also speaking to key IT trends that are
accelerating demand for IT Automation software were Opsware's
strategic partners, including KPMG, VMware, and Nortel Networks.
The conference highlighted Opsware's product strategy,
company direction and showcased new capabilities for the
Opsware Server
Management and Automation, Network
Management and Automation, and Asset
Management System- once again proving its dedication
to providing innovative, world-class IT Automation solutions.
Additionally, several companies were honored with Best of
OPSWorld Awards for their usage and deployments of Opsware.
Winners included:
- EDS - Most Geographically Distributed Deployment
- MSN (Microsoft) - Most Innovative Use of Opsware
- Marriott International - Best Asset Management Practices

our customers, partners and employees with a valuable forum
to discuss their experiences, ideas, and sharing of IT best
practices. It is a valuable exchange of knowledge that furthers
our goal of creating the most adaptive and interactive customer
experience possible."
